MANILA Mayor Maria Sheila “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan advised the public who are planning to go to Divisoria and other places in Manila to shop or stroll to avoid wearing expensive jewelry.

The mayor said shoppers from neighboring cities, municipalities, and provinces, usually flocked to Divisoria, Quiapo, and Blumentritt to buy gifts and other unique items this Christmas season since they have been getting their money’s worth.

She said a special team composed of local police officers, traffic enforcers from Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), personnel of the Department of Public Service (DPS), City Engineering Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), and other departments and bureaus will focus in providing a safe, orderly and convenient environment for shoppers.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan said the Divisoria night market will be open from 6 p.m. up to 6 a.m. to give time for those who come from work to go shopping this holiday season.
