Jobless man ends up lifeless in Batangas attack
A 42-YEAR-OLD jobless man was killed and his female companion was injured after they were attacked by an alleged male enemy Saturday night in Bgy. Hukay, Calatagan, Batangas.
Calatagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) case officers PSSg Samuel C. Riva and PCpl. Francisco A. Vergara identified the fataility as Henry Rex Manalo.
Injured was Chona Mercado, 39. Both victims are residents of Bgy. Hukay.
The suspect is a 63-year-old welder and also a resident of the same village.
Barangay Hukay Kagawad Allan Villarin phoned Calatagan MPS around 5:45 p.m., August 6 and reported the hacking incident.
Investigation showed that at about 5 p.m. on the same date, the victim and the suspect were conversing when they had an argument.
The suspect suddenly hacked the victim, killing him on the spot.
Mercado sustained injuries while trying to pacify the suspect who surrendered to the barangay chairman after the incident.
