Imus holds free spay/neuter mission for pet animals
IMUS CITY, Cavite – Hundreds of dogs and cats were spayed and neutered in the veterinary medical mission held by the local government here in collaboration with Biyaya Animal Care Foundation and Vermosa Sports Hub, Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Food and Lifestyle Market Vermosa Estate area, Daang Hari Boulevard, Pasong Buaya I.
Fur parents lined up early with their pet dogs and cats to sign up for free spay and neuter, free deworming, and pet microchipping.
Over 300 pet dogs and cats were castrated by the team of Biyaya Animal Care in a one-day-only project of Imus LGU (local government unit) under Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula.
“This project of castration, deworming, microchipping, and anti-rabies vaccination is to prevent the increase of stray dogs and cats and to take good care of them here in our city,” Dr. Maribel Depayso, Imus City veterinarian, said.
Meanwhile, the Imus City Veterinary Services Office vaccinated around 500 dogs and cats with an anti-rabies vaccine.
Dr. Depayso thanked the fur parents who participated in the program for their pet animals.
The Imus City Veterinary Services Office (VSO) encouraged the public to have their pets vaccinated early with anti-rabies.
“You can bring your pets to their office in Eco-village, Malagasang 1-G, from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – or (check the) schedule in your barangay and monitor the Imus City Veterinary Office Facebook page (for) announcements. You can call on their hotline number 0955-9150373, for your questions regarding our programs,” the Imus City VSO said.
