
Hitman nabbed in Laguna
POLICE on Saturday arrested an alleged hitman following a gun attack on a businessman in Calamba City, Laguna.
Victim Elpidio Fernandez , 51, of Blk. 3, Lot 1, Phase1, Southville 6, Bgy. Kay-anlog, Calamba City survived the shooting. He is being treated at a hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.
In a report submitted to Calamba City police chief Col. Arnel Pagulayan, arrested was John Marco Sandoval, an alleged hitman involved in a series of shooting incidents in Calamba City, Laguna, and Batangas.
Authorities found the hideout of the suspect with the help of witnesses and CCTV footage.
Sandoval shot Fernandez at 3:15 p.m. last Wednesday and fled with a cohort on a motorcycle.
The suspect was caught in a pursuit operation.
“May pointer sila, ina-identify nila kung sino ‘yung target. Then naka motor sila. Pagnaispatan na nila ‘yung target, babarilin nila,” Pagulayan said.
Seized from Sandoval were a cal. 45 pistol, several fake IDs, and a motorcycle used in the operation.
Records showed the suspect has four pending arrest warrants for murder, homicide, direct assault and usurpation of authority.
Police are hunting down Sandoval’s cohorts.
