Baby dumped in manhole
A ONE-MONTH-OLD bouncing baby was found dumped in a manhole beside a creek in Calamba City, Laguna
Members of the Public Order and Safety Office of Calamba City immediately went to the area to rescue the infant.
A concerned citizen, Jefferson Nazareno, passed by the bridge in Bgy. Parian in the city when he heard a cry of a baby.
Nazareno immediately checked and was surprised to see a baby wrapped in a blanket and placed on top of an unwrapped box in a manhole beside the creek.
He immediately posted it on social media to call the attention of the authorities.
The post went viral until it reached the POSO, who abruptly dispatched a team to save the baby.
The POSO also conducted rescue operations on children and other people living under the bridge.
The rescued baby and other individuals were brought to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for proper care.
