THE security guard who was run over by a motorist in Mandaluyong City last June 5 has accepted the “apology” of the sports utility vehicle (SUV) owner but will still pursue criminal charges.

“Itutuloy ko po yung kaso para makamit ko po yung hustisya na nararapat po sa akin,” Christian Joseph Floralde was quoted to have said.

A viral dashcam (dashboard camera) footage of the hit-and-run incident in Mandaluyong City was making the rounds on social media.

The security guard sustained multiple injuries all over his body after the SUV he was trying to accost ran him over.

He was seen enforcing the traffic flow near a mall at the intersection of Julio Vargas Avenue and St. Francis Street in Mandaluyong when the incident happened.

The Department of Justice (DOJ), on the other hand, has issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against SUV owner Jose Antonio Sanvicente.

An ILBO requires immigration officials to inform the Justice Secretary if the subject of an ILBO intends to leave the country through international airports and seaports.

But only courts can stop a person from leaving the country.

This developed as the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office will resume the preliminary investigation into the hugely controversial road incident on Thursday, June 23.

Sanvicente, thru counsel, will file his counter-affidavit over charges of frustrated murder and abandonment of one’s own victim.

In the last hearing, defense counsel Danny Macalino said that his client will attend the next hearing to file and subscribe to his counter-affidavit.
