SAN JOSE CITY — A global positioning system (GPS) of a stolen mobile phone helped police track down four holdup men who robbed the MCMA Roofing Hardware in nearby Talavera town on Tuesday.

City police head Lt. Col. Marlon M. Cudal said his men and members of the Talavera police led by Lt. Col. Ranny G. Casilla arrested the suspects while partaking food at the Dacoco Restaurant in Bgy. Sibut, this city.

Cudal said the suspects, who are natives of Bulacan and Isabela, also admitted to be also involved in the string of robbery-hold-up incidents victimizing “Bumbay” money lenders in the cities of Cabanatuan and Gapan and in Bulacan.

Casilla identified the robbed victims as spouses Marciano Jr., 41; and Michelle Angela Abesamis, 43, of Bgy. Marcos District, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

The suspects poked their guns at the victims and declared a hold-up before carting away their mobile phones and undetermined amount of cash.

Seized from the suspects were a cal. ,45 pistol with 12 live bullets, a cal. .9mm with two cartridges containing 19 ammunition, two hand grenades, 12 assorted mobile phones, various bags and wallets containing identification cards, three motorcycles, and cash amounting to P115,910.

Charges for robbery, violation of Republic Act 10591 and RA 9516 were filed against the arrested suspects.

“Let this be a warning to all criminals that we are on track of your lawless activities and we will not get tired of running after you. You have no place in this peaceful province of Nueva Ecija,” said provincial police head Col. Richard V. Caballero, who lauded his men for their accomplishment.
