Girl, 3, killed by SUV in Caloocan City
A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl died after she was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while standing on the side of the road Saturday afternoon in Caloocan City.
Raine Gabisan, resident of Bisig ng Nayon St. Brgy. 4, was rushed to the Caloocan City Medical Center where she was pronounced dead upon arrival due to severe head injury while the driver of the Mitsubishi Montero (NDF-6241), identified as Josephine Garner, 29, call center agent and resident of Block 6 Lot 6, Tanguile, Brgy. San Vicente, Angono, Rizal surrendered to the police after the incident.
A report reaching the office of Caloocan Deputy Chief of Police P/Lt. Col. Ilustre Mendoza showed that while the victim was hit by the incoming SUV driven by Garner while she was on the side of the road in front of Basketball Court, Bisig ng Nayon St. at around 3 p.m.
Raine’s head, according to the report, was run over by the left front wheel of the vehicle causing severe injury.
Police said victim’s father, Resller Gabisan, 28, public utility vehicle driver, will represent his daughter in filing a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide against Garner before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
