GenTri ramps up Chikiting Ligtas
GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GenTri), Cavite – After the one-week intensification drive of “Chikiting Ligtas” program for 33 barangays of the City of General Trias, the vaccination drive for children continues under the local City Health Office (CHO) here.
In collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), GenTri Mayor Luis Ferrer IV and the local government, and CHO under Dr. Jonathan Luseco, the target population for the vaccination drive is children ages 0-59 months.
Chikiting Ligtas mass vaccination against measles and polio was formally launched nationwide last May 2.
“After the vaccination at the health centers, we will go house to house with the help of our barangay health workers (BHWs)” Dr. Luseco said in an interview.
“The purpose of this program is to provide additional vaccination and protection to children under the age of five against measles and polio, which, if neglected and not premature, can lead to death,” Dr. Luseco added.
