Gabby, Shuvee and Kim heap praises for Jillian
GABBY Eigenmann, Shuvee Etrata and Kim Perez attended the presscon of “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko”, “Captain Kitten” episode. They’re playing support to Jillian Ward who portrays Captain Kitten.
“Captain Kitten” is the story featured in “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko” for four Saturdays. “Ako yung doctor na nagi-experiment sa animals at pangunahing kalaban ni Jillian Ward as Captain Kitten,” Gabby says. “I have to wear a mask and prosthetic make up in portraying the role. Ang galing ng pagkakagawa, pero ang hirap lang mag-dialogue kapag suot mo siya. At napakainit din niya.”
How is it working with Jillian? “After doing Voltes V na mga bata ang co-stars ko, it’s nice to work with Jillian again. Nagkasama rin kasi kami sa hit afternoon soap niyang ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’. After two decades in the industry, I enjoy working with young stars. Nakakabagets ng feeling, e.”
He feels lucky he can switch easily from playing good to evil characters. “I enjoy being a villain kasi challenging siya i-portray,” Gabby adds. “I always ask for his back story. Kasi may dahilan why he is behaving badly. Bakit siya nagkaganyan? Anong pinagdaanan niya? So I collaborate with the director and our writer para mabuo ko yung character that I play.”
Shuvee and Kim are paired for the first time in “Captain Kitten”. So what is Shuvee’s role?
“Ako yung friend ni Jillian who knows yung secret katauhan niya as Captain Kitten,” she says. “Intimidated ako kay Jillian noong una, kasi mas matagal na siya sa industry at big star niya, but it turned out na sobrang bait niya, lalo sa newcomers like us ni Kim.”
Shuvee is from Cebu. “I grew up in Bantayan Island. I’m a college student taking up physical therapy. Last year, na discover ako ng GMA sa Tiktok. Pinapunta ako dito sa Manila and I was cast in ‘Hearts on Ice” and also in ‘Unang Hirit’. I’m glad isinali naman nila ako ngayon sa ‘Captain Kitten’ as it imparts a good message. It shows the value of true friendship and how to make it more matatag. Also, it teaches love for animals.”
A lot of young people consider the wholesome and successful Jillian Ward as their role model. How about Kim Perez? Who is his role model? “I guess it is my mom, kasi single mom siya and she raised me all by herself, so i salute her for that.”
Kim is part of the GMA Sparkle Sparkada. Aside from “Captain Kitten”, he is also in the cast of Ruru Madrid’s action.
