AROUND 45 residents in Barangay Upper Bicutan were rushed to different hospitals after suffering from suspected food poisoning Tuesday evening in Taguig City.

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano immediately ordered the Incident Management Team and the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) of the City Health Office to assist the victims and ensure that they were given medical treatment.

Upper Bicutan Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO) also put up an Incident Command Post and provided immediate medical attention to other residents who experienced symptoms of food poisoning.

Initial report showed that 16 residents fell ill and were rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital after eating at a food stall located in Brgy. Upper Bicutan. Some experienced stomach aches, headaches and vomiting.

Four have already been discharged, seven were brought to different hospitals including three who were sent home after treatment and 22 were given immediate medical attention at the Incident Command Post.

The City Health Office already ordered the closure of the food stall and it will remain closed until the investigation is completed.

The CEDSU already took samples of the foods at the stall while the Sanitation Office also checked the water source of possible contamination.
