Ex-Air Force man shoots couple, self
A RETIRED Air Force man was believed to have shot and seriously wounded a store owner and her live-in partner before shooting himself in the head following a heated altercation Saturday morning in Pasay City.
Hazel Mejares, 47, and her overseas Filipino worker (OFW) live-in partner Jovel Villegas, 47, both residents of P44-04 14th corner 15th Streets, Barangay 183 Villamor, Pasay City were rushed by their neighbors to the Air Force General Hospital but the woman was later transferred to Adventist Medical Center while Villegas was transferred to Pasay City General Hospital where they were both placed in critical condition.
The suspect, a retired Air Force man of Barangay 183 Villamor died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the head with a caliber .9mm Glock 17 pistol found beside him.
Initial investigation received by Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg showed that earlier at around 8:50 a.m., the suspect and the victims engaged in a heated altercation in front of a store at the corner of 14th and 15th Streets allegedly due to an old grudge.
The suspect went home but returned moments later, already armed with caliber .9mm pistol, and allegedly shot Mejares in front of her store.
The suspect then went inside the store and allegedly shot Villegas before allegedly shooting himself in the head after stepping out of victim’s establishment.
