DEFENDING champion EcoOil-DLSU shoots for its third straight victory against debuting Centro Escolar University as the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup resumes from a two-week break today at the Ynares Sports Arena.

After posting two lopsided wins, the Green Archers are facing a major test in the Scorpions in a duel of collegiate champions at 7:30 p.m.

Mentored by Jeff Perlas, CEU completed a 2-0 sweep of Diliman College to rule the Universities and Colleges Athletic League two weeks ago.

In the first game, Keanzel Basketball and CCI-Yengskivel battle for a breakthrough at 4:30 p.m. after being blown off the court in their respective season openers.

The D-League took a pause to give way for the PBA All-Star Weekend in Bacolod and in observance of the Lenten season.

After posting an average winning margin of 34.5 points, EcoOil-DLSU is bracing for a tough challenge.

The Scorpions have a solid roster led by Franz Diaz and Daniel Marcelo, as assistant coach Caloy Garcia warned the Green Archers not to be complacent.

“It will be harder and harder against every team. We still have to learn how to play better basketball despite our two wins,” said Garcia.

Meanwhile, Keanzel seeks to rebound from a 59-109 loss to Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda, while CCI-Yengskivel bowed to EcoOil-DLSU, 68-110.
