Ecija female employees cited during National Women’s Month celebration

CABANATUAN CITY – Women in workplaces in Nueva Ecija were honored during last Friday’s celebration of the National Women’s Month with the theme: “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababayan, Patutunayan!”

At the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) headed by district engineer Elpidio Y. Trinidad, women employees organized themselves into one solid group to emphasize the importance of their role in workplaces such as the DPWH in providing solidarity and support for gender equality with the agency.

Trinidad said the event aims to raise awareness among his employees about the importance of inclusivity and diversity at the DPWH.

“Our office remains committed to fostering a workplace culture that values and respects the contributions of women. It is crucial to acknowledge their contributions and create an environment that fosters their growth and development,” added Trinidad.

Meanwhile, at the Nueva Ecija I Electric Cooperative Incorporated in San Isidro town, women employees and those invited from the coop’s Member-Consumers-Owners Organization (MCOO) in barangays Poblacion, San Isidro, Maugat, San Antonio and San Jose Navao, Jaen were treated to a free “wellness services” on Friday.

The free “wellness services” included manicure, pedicure, hand and foot spa, and hair coloring and treatment.

The NEECO 1 headed by acting manager, engineer Loreto A. Marcelino, said the activity shows the coop’s continued support for the important role women play in society, and how it strengthens the cause of women empowerment.

The NEECO I’s Institutional Services Department also thanked the Nueva Ecija Provincial Manpower Training Center in Gapan City for providing assistance in the one-day activity.
