Angeles City police commander Col. Rommel Batangan said his men conducted a surveillance operation after they received information about an illegal drug trade on Henson Street, Bgy. Sta. Teresita, Angeles City involving a suspect on board a pick-up vehicle.

Batangan dispatched a team and when the cops were approaching the vehicle, one of the four suspects in the car fired at them before they sped off.

The cops also found an injured suspect in the vehicle and a lifeless man some 100 meters away from the abandoned vehicle.

Recovered from the suspects’ vehicle were a black sling-bag containing one .45 pistol with six live ammunitions; spare key; a plastic sachet of shabu; two fired cartridge cases: and assorted IDs.

The dead man yielded one .45 pistol with five live bullets and two plastic sachets of shabu.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Valriano de Leon ordered a follow-up operation to track down the two other suspects.
