CELEBRATING a decade in the entertainment business was a big event for Virtual Playground (VP), the management outfit jointly owned by president Dondon Monteverde and CEO Charlie Dy.

They were joined by the VP management team – general manager Mark Salamat, casting manager Griffin Villanueva, entertainment manager Grace Manuel, volleyball manager Mela Tunay, road managers Jade Abella and Julian Bansuelo,

“VP Global, we’ve dedicated ourselves to creating a lasting impression and contributing to a world of sports and entertainment in every way possible,” declared VP talent and GMA 7 weather caster, Anjo Pertierra.

“Get ready to experience VP Global Management, where talent meets vision and creativity knows no bounds,” added Anjo, who is among the many talents joining the pool of VP, which officially changed its name to VP Global Management.

The rebranding happened on the company’s tenth anniversary that took place in a grand event at Sheraton Manila at the Newport World Hotel complex. It also coincided with the Chinese New Year, ushering in the year of the Wooden Dragon.

“Back in 2014, I told Dondon it’s about time our artists will have a home,” said Charlie, who put up the company with Dondon. “That was how Virtual Playground started.

“As we reflect on our remarkable journey, it is our deepest gratitude to all the players, parents, coaches, team owners and managers who placed their trust on us throughout the years.”

“Their unwavering support in partnership has been the cornerstone of our success and for that, we are truly grateful.

“At this pivotal moment in our company’s history, we are proud to announce a significant milestone. In line with our vision for global excellence and representation, we are proud to introduce our new name, VP Global Management. This is our commitment not only to sports but the diverse world of entertainment and artistry.

“Our promise remains steadfast. To guide our talents towards the global stage and beyond. This is in line with our vision.

“With our rebranded identity, we are poised to explore new horizons, forge new partnerships and elevate our talents to unprecedented heights.

“Together, let us embark on the next chapter of excellence, unity and triumph. With your continued support and our unwavering dedication, the future holds limitless possibilities.”

Among the sports personalities under VP Global Management are mixed martial artist Brandon Vera, cagers James Yap and Ricci Rivero, taekwondo champion Pauline Lopez and even Sacramento Kings development coach Jimmy Alapag.

Meanwhile, for the showbiz names who are contract stars affiliated with the company, there are actor-politician Dan Fernandez, Monsour del Rosario, Rob Gomez, John Vic de Guzman and MJ Lastimosa, among many others.

“I want to thank our bosses – Sir Don, Boss Charlie and Sir Mark – at Virtual Playground,” appreciative actor Rob Gomez declared. “You always guide us in the right path. The job’s not done yet, let’s get to work.

“We are thankful for everything that you’ve given us, especially the words of wisdom. That will really help us in our every day journey.”

Taekwondo champion Pauline Lopez cannot be thankful enough to be a part of the VP family. “Thank you so much for all the guidance, knowledge and wisdom. You guys have not only helped me in my athletic career, but also helped me in my entertainment career.

“Along with helping me pursue my dreams to become a coach, helping the youth. I’m very grateful to meet so many people. Thank you to the VP staff for getting us together in this one room to celebrate our tenth year.”

VP Global Management is in partnership with Sparkle, Tyrone Escalante and Star Center, as well as with a Singapore-based artist agency to open doors for cross-country collaborations to Southeast Asia, represented by Raynold Tan.

“Thank you for helping me kickstart my career and bridging the gap between Singapore and the Philippines,” Raynold said. “It has been a wonderful, wonderful journey, so far. I am looking forward to more journeys and creating more memories.”
