Decomposing woman found in rented apartment
A WOMAN who was in an advanced stage of decomposition on Thursday was found in her rented apartment in Mataas Na Kahoy in Batangas.
Mataas na Kahoy Municipal Police Station chief Lt. Doosdado Pasion identified the victim as Lalaine Nepales, 44, a native of Mauban, Quezon, and temporarily residing in an apartment in Bgy. 2-A, Mataas na Kahoy.
SSgt. Homer Caringal and Pat. Ruel Teñoso said kagawad Alexander Decella reported to the police the discovery.
A neighbor said she noticed that the victim had not been coming out of her rented apartment for several days.
Neighbors investigated and smelled foul odor from the apartment. They immediately reported to the village officials, who called the police.
Members of the Batangas Provincial Crime Laboratory Office and the local police processed the crime scene.
Authorities are investigating there was foul play in Nepales’ death or if she died of a natural cause.
