POLICE Regional Office 7 (PRO7)director, Brigadier General Roque Edgardo DP Vega on Sunday announced the arrest of three more top drug targets in Central Visayas following separate buy-bust operations in Cebu province which resulted in the confiscation of at least P109 million worth of high-grade shabu.

In a report to Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC), Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the PRO7 director said that one of the suspects he identified as Grace Glory Juntilla alias ‘Nicole,’ a 31-year old resident of Sitio Ibapo in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu yielded at least 15 kilograms of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P102 million.

The official said the jobless woman was arrested during a sting in Sitio Mustang in Bgy. Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City around 3:25 p.m. Saturday by undercover officers from the Lapu-Lapu City Police Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Unit and the PRO7 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

“We have accounted for another high-value individual in Central Visayas who has been targeted for neutralization by our men since last year,” Vega said.

The suspect is being held at the Lapu-Lapu City police lock-up facility while the recovered drugs were submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 7 for qualitative and quantitative examination prior to safekeeping.

Vega said the two other major targets were arrested in separate operations which led in the recovery of over P7 million worth of shabu.

He identified the suspects as Leonard Mansueto and Ronnel Cabaron.

Mansueto, a 45-year old resident of Bgy. Babag in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu was arrested during a sting last Thursday which led to the recovery of a kilo of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P6.8 million.

Vega said members of the PRO7 Regional Intelligence Division and RDEU, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Criminal Investigation Unit and City DEU and the Naval Intelligence Security Group were involved in the successful anti-drug operation.

Cabaron, a 42-year old resident of Borromeo, Bgy. Bulacao in Talisay City was arrested on Tuesday after he sold some P340,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer.

Vega said members of the Talisay City Police Station DEU confiscated a plastic sachet containing 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill from the suspect during the sting.

Danao commended the PRO7 for their latest accomplishment in the war on drugs particularly for accounting for the two suspects who are included in the regional drug watch list.

“I congratulate our operatives in Central Visayas for heeding the call of SILG Benjamin “Benjur” Abalos Jr to further intensify the war on drugs program of the PNP. Let these series of successful police operations warn all drug peddlers that the PNP anti-illegal drug operations will be more aggressive especially on high-value targets,” he said.

The arrested suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
