WV cops capture notorious rape suspect
ONE of Western Visayas’ most wanted persons: a man facing non-bailable charges for 15 counts of rape in Iloilo province is now in jail after being arrested in a manhunt operation in Iloilo, Police Regional Office 6 director, Brigadier General Flynn E. Dongbo on Sunday said.
In a report to Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge, Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the PRO6 director identified the suspect as Aren Fernandez, a 45-year old resident of Barangay Sua in San Dionisio, Iloilo.
He said that PRO6 operatives last Tuesday morning tracked down the elusive suspect in his hiding place in Bgy. Sua.
The suspect was arrested on the strength of a warrant for 15 counts of rape issued by Judge Jose Mauricio Gomez of the Barotac Viejo Regional Trial Court Branch 6.
Lt. Gen. Danao congratulated the PRO6 for accounting for another most wanted person in the country.
