OPERATIVES of the Southern Police District (SPD) dismantled a “drug den” following the arrest of eight drug suspects, including a high-value individual (HVI), and confiscation of more than P.3 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation Tuesday morning in Taguig City.

SPD Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the arrested suspects, alias “Toto”, a drug den maintainer listed as HVI, and seven others inside the alleged drug den were arrested.

Macaraeg said the operation was launched by joint operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) and District Intelligence Division (DID) at around 5:00 a.m. at Purok 9, PNR Site FTI Compound, Bgy. Western Bicutan following a tip they gathered from their reliable informant.

During the operation, some of the suspects were caught sniffing shabu inside the drug den maintained by “Toto”.

Police seized from the suspects 11 plastic sachets of shabu weighing more or less 51 grams with a standard drug price of P346,800, the marked money, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

The arrested drug personalities were presented for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of violation of Sections 5, 6, and 11 under Art II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Macaraeg lauded the arresting units for their “unending” commitment to stopping the proliferation of illegal drugs. “With the constant arrest of illegal drug personalities, drug traders will have less opportunity to spread their illegal activities in our area. Job well done, and continue your hard work for a safer Southern Metro,” he said.
