CREAMLINE is expected to have a cakewalk as it plays Gerflor, while Akari shoots for its first winning streak of the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference against Farm Fresh today at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Heavy favorites to secure the solo lead in the 2 p.m. curtain raiser, the Cool Smashers are not taking the Defenders lightly in their quest for a third straight victory.

“You can’t count Gerflor out. They also train hard so we will just have to stay focused,” said Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses.

Having beaten two of three pre-conference favorites, the Chargers are looking forward to sustain their club-best start.

Akari, which is eyeing its first-ever semifinals appearance since joining the league last year, goes up against Farm Fresh at 4 p.m.

“The system or whatever you want to implement depends on the performance of the guys. The wins will come as a result if you play hard and study,” said the Chargers’ Brazilian coach Jorge Souza de Brito.

Cignal and Choco Mucho, locked in a four-way tie with F2 Logistics and Nxled at 1-1, tangle in the featured match at 6 p.m.

Despite missing the services of Jia de Guzman and Ced Domingo, who are making the most out of the opportunity to play overseas, the Cool Smashers are looking good so far, beating the Flying Titans and the HD Spikers in succession.

“Sa team naman namin, sistema, hindi naman individual,” said Meneses.

Ranged against the most decorated PVL club, the Defenders hope to competitive to achieve a breakthrough. Gerflor had a forgettable outing against PetroGazz in Batangas City last Saturday, scoring only four points in the second set.

Cignal hopes to rebound from last Saturday’s 20-25, 20-25, 16-25 loss to Creamline, while Choco Mucho logged a quick 25-18, 25-13, 25-17 victory over Farm Fresh.
