CHOCO Mucho guns for a sixth straight victory as it faces a PetroGazz team reeling from a three-game skid today in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

A piece of second place awaits the Flying Titans if theu prevail in the 6 p.m. showdown with the Angels.

After bowing to Creamline last Oct. 15, Choco Mucho won five consecutive matches, all in straight-set fashion, to seize solo third at 5-1 behind its unbeaten sister team (6-0) and Chery Tiggo (6-1).

With Sisi Rondina and Deanna Wong leading the charge, the Flying Titans could not seem to lose at this stage of their campaign.

“Sobrang saya na nangyayari sa amin ito kasi nung first and second conferences, hindi naman alam kung paano kami manalo. Ngayon na nandito na kami, sana nga magtuloy-tuloy na, kung ano man yung gusto namin na goal, sana makuha namin,” said Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin.

The main concern for the Flying Titans right now is how to sustain their hot streak.

“Continue lang ang training namin, mag-viewing kung anong mga adjustments and kailangang gawin,” said Alinsunurin, who took over Choco Mucho this season. “Ang importante naman, lahat pinaghahandaan namin.”

Rondina has also underlined the significance of a unified mindset and shared goals within the Flying Titans, saying: “Kailangan namin talaga na pare-pareho kami ng mindset, pare-pareho kami ng goal kasi nakikita natin na maganda yung galaw so kahit naman hindi niyo kami tanungin, I think pag ganun na yung mindset lalabas at lalabas talaga yung magandang outcome.”

The former University of Santo Tomas star also wants the team to maintain the underdog tag as added motivation.

“Siyempre iba pa rin na underdog yung feeling. Ako, personally ganun yung napi-feel ko every time I step into the court kasi ano eh, maraming nangyayari. Alam mo yung dagdag confidence, dagdag tapang. Ganun yung lagi kong dala dala diyan and syempre trabaho pa rin, perform nang maganda,” said Rondina.

PetroGazz suddenly became a middle-of-the-pack team. After opening the conference at 4-0, the Angels dropped three straight matches to fell to sixth spot.

Meanwhile, Cignal also seeks to ride on its three-game streak as it tangles with struggling F2 Logistics at 4 p.m. after the 2 p.m. clash between Nxled and Galeries Tower.

The HD Spikers go all-out for a win and hold of solo fourth as the race to the semis heats up heading to the last two-and-a-half weeks of the prelims among a record 12-team cast.

Cignal, led by Ces Molina and Gel Cayuna, is currently tied with PLDT at 5-2.

The Chameleons seek to put up a winning streak to keep their slim Final Four hopes alive. Boosted by its 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 win over Akari last Tuesday, Nxled now has a 2-5 slate.

Winless after six games, the Highrisers are simply eyeing to finish strong in their pro league debut.
