THE Metro Pacific Tollway South yesterday announced that the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will not be affected by the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Laguna and the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Cavite on Aug. 6 to 15.

The MPT South said CAVITEX and CALAX will remain open 24/7 during the ECQ and MECQ period.

“CALAX will remain open to provide 24/7 expressway services for essential travels during the implementation of ECQ in Laguna and MECQ in Cavite,” the MPT South advisory said.

“Ang CAVITEX ay mananatiling bukas sa inyong essential travel ngayong umiiral ang ECQ sa Metro Manila at MECQ sa Cavite. Asahan and pagbagal ng trapiko sa PNP checkpoints na nakahimpil sa Manila bound -MIA Exit, Cavite bound -Longos Exit at Cavite bound-Kawit exit simula Agosto 6,” the advisory added.

Motorists were also told to bring their employee ID, certificate of employment ( for essential workers) , Inter-Agency Task Force ID or vaccination cards for those who have schedules for COVID jabs to avoid inconvenience at checkpoints.

Essential goods were also allowed passage at police checkpoints.
