POLICE Regional Office 13 director, Brigadier General Kirby John B. Kraft yesterday announced the arrest of four drug suspects in Caraga and yielded P13 million worth of shabu.

The Caraga police director said that three of the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust inside the Philippine Ports Authority compound in Barangay Lipata in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte on Tuesday.

Recovered from the suspects were an estimated P13.6 million worth of shabu Kraft said that members of the PRO Police Regional Office 13 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Coast Guard arrested Jamil Mawi alias ‘Diala,’ 48; Naif Abdul alias ‘Janalan,’ 38; and Aminodin Ampaso alias ‘Din,’33.

Recovered from the suspects were one zip-locked plastic packet containing five grams of shabu worth P34,000.

The suspects’ grey Wildtrak Ford Ranger pick-up (KAA-9370) also yielded 1.995 kilos of shabu worth P13.260 million, P630 in assorted bills, three smart phones, three assorted sling bags and an electronic weighing scale.

The two other suspects, one of them identified as Angelo Villarino, 33, of Bgy. Kinamlutan, Butuan City were arrested in a sting in Purok 8, Tinago, Bgy. Matabao in Buenavista around 4:40 a.m. last Monday.

The name of the 2nd suspect was withheld since he is still a minor listed as a ‘streel-level individual’ from Bgy. Libertad.

Villarino was placed in the custody of the RDEU13 while the minor was turned over to the Buenavista Municipal Police Station.
