BLACKWATER hopes to make it three wins in a row when it takes on Converge FiberX in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Bossing, who are off to a 2-0 start under coach Jeffrey Cariaso, are expected to play with a lot of confidence against winless FiberXers in the 4;30 p.m. encounter.

But Cariaso remjinded his boys not to take the FiberXers lightly despite their 0-2 record.

“Right now, we are just starting, so too early to tell. We are still in the process of learning about each other, ‘yung chemistry namin p’wede pang mag-improve,” said Cariaso in an interview posted at the official PBA website.

“Pero we all understand completely that we have to do and give our best each and every game.”

Cariaso is keeping his eyes focused on the Converge duo of Alec Stockton and Justin Arana, who are averaging 22.5 points and 21.5 points, respectively.

“We are not taking them lightly. We can’t afford to do that. So feeling ko it’s going to be a good game,: added Cariaso.

“They will be hungry to win so kailangan maging ready kami. Hindi kami p’wedeng maging complacent.:

In the second game, Meralco and NLEX look to secure their second win when they face off at 7:30 p.m.

The Bolts are hoping to duplicate their 121-117 overtime victory over Rain or Shine last Saturday.

The win came after the Bolts dropped a 93-96 decision to Blackwater.

The Road Warriors, on the other hand, are seeking to bounce back after their 95-99 loss to Terrafirma Dyip last Sunday.

The Road Warriors hurdled their conference debut against the NorthPort Batang Pier, 107-100,

After the first week of action , Meralco and NLEX find themselves in a four-way tie for third place with TNT Tropang Giga and NorthPort, all holding 1-1 records.

Four teams — San Miguel Beer, Magnolia, Barangay Ginebra, and Phoenix Super LPG — have yet to play their opening matches.
