NORTHPORT Batang Pier rallied from 18-point deficit to beat Converge FiberXers, 112-104, in overtime to secure its first win in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Arvin Tolentino continued his impressive performance with a game-high as 31 points as the Batang Pier erased a huge a daunting 65-80 deficit to complete a dramatic, come-from-behind victory over the FiberXers.

The Batang Pier, who dropped a heartbreaking 100-107 defeat in overtime to NLEX last Wednesday, outscored the FiberXers, 31-16, in the fourth period

The Bonnie Tan-mentored Batang Pier even secured a four-point advantage, 95-91, entering the final two minutes,

King Caralipio’s lay-up cut the deficit to two, and after Tolentino split his charities, Alec Stockton nailed a three-pointer to tie the score at 96-all and send it into overtime.

Joshua Munzon, Cade Flores, and Will Navarro ignited a series of fastbreak plays, propelling the Batang Pier ahead for good, 102-96, at the beginning of overtime.

Tolentino, who had 29 points in a losing effort against the Road Warriors, narrowly missed a triple-double with 11 assists and eight rebounds.

Munzon stood out as the team’s second-highest scorer with 17 points, a game-high six steals, six rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.

Navarro, returning from an ACL injury, added a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Flores contributed 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Overall, the Batang Pier had 19 steals and forced their opponents into 31 turnovers, with 17 of those coming in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Stockton finished with 27 points, while Justine Arana achieved a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds in the FiberXers’ loss.
