For continuing and expanding Duterte legacy’s ‘Build Build Build’ with ‘Build Better More’ program

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go commended President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. for his commitment to continue his predecessor, former president Rodrigo Duterte’s Build, Build, Build program, citing how its expansion can further boost the country’s development.

“Let us continue to capitalize on the gains of the Build, Build, Build program of the previous administration as this can also be used to sustain and to complement the ‘Build Better More’ program of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., to ensure that no one will be left behind in the road towards recovery,” Go urged.

In celebration of former president Duterte’s birthday on March 28, President Marcos Jr., through a video message, thanked his predecessor for all of the sacrifices he has done for the country and vowed that he will continue his legacy programs, considering how it has significantly helped the Filipinos.

“Happy birthday to you, Mr. President… Lahat ng magandang nasimulan ninyo, we will continue working on it. We will continue to make sure that those projects you started will be successful. And I’m glad that I am able to continue the good work that you started,” President Marcos greeted.

Recently, Go was invited to join the inauguration of the country’s largest port passenger terminal building (PTB) at the Port of Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro on Monday, March 27. He highlighted that Build, Build, Build program was launched during the start of the previous administration with the aim of accelerating the country’s economic growth through the construction of various infrastructure projects, such as airports, seaports, highways, and bridges, among others.

The senator then lauded the former president for laying the groundwork for the long-term infrastructure program and his dedication to providing a more comfortable life for all.

Meanwhile, as he remains persistent in supporting other similar infrastructure programs and measures, Go stressed how said projects can not only raise the quality of life but also significantly improve connectivity and accessibility in different parts of the country.

For his part, Go, who serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, supported several other projects Oriental Mindoro, such as the construction of farm-to-market roads in Bulalacao, Bansud, Gloria, Pola and Socorro; construction of multi-purpose buildings in Bongabong, and Bulalacao; construction of potable water system in Socorro and Pinamalayan; acquisition of multi-purpose vehicles in Pola; and acquisition of medical equipment for the local government of Bongabong.

In Calapan City, he supported the construction of a multipurpose facility in Oriental Mindoro Information Technology Park, and multi-purpose buildings in Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) and in Barangay Santa Cruz, among others.
