AS the nation commemorates Easter Sunday, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said he believes that despite the trials and hardships that the country has endured in recent years, there is reason to be optimistic about the future.

“Easter Sunday reminds us that no matter what we are going through, there is always hope. We must never lose faith in ourselves and in the goodness of others.”

“Let us remember that we are all in this together, and that by working together, we can overcome any obstacle,” he added.

Go encouraged Filipinos to take inspiration from the story of the resurrection and to hold fast to their faith and values.

“Let us never lose sight of what is truly important in life: our faith, our families, and our communities. These are the things that sustain us in times of difficulty and give us hope for the future,” he said.

“Magtulungan tayo, magdamayan tayo, magmalasakit tayo sa isa’t isa, at magtiwala tayo sa Diyos. Sa tulong ng lahat, kayang-kaya nating malampasan ang anumang pagsubok,” added Go.

Meanwhile, the senator continues to push for the passage of his proposed bills which seek to achieve an inclusive economic recovery for Filipinos amid the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises.

These include Senate Bill No. 1594, which was authored and co-sponsored by Go.

The measure aims to institutionalize the One Town, One Product Philippines Program and shall serve as a government stimulus program to encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises in the country through the utilization of indigenous raw materials, local traditions, and cultures across the country.

Go likewise reintroduced SBN 1182 or the proposed Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery Act in a bid to strengthen the capacity of government financial institutions to provide the needed financial assistance to MSMEs, and other strategically important companies.

Go pointed out that the proposed GUIDE Act is among the priority measures mentioned by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during the latter’s first State of the Nation Address.

Go explained that these bills, if passed into law, will not only create more jobs for Filipinos but also improve their source of livelihood and provide better job security.
