THE National Bureau of Investigation Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) agents have successfully nabbed a suspected fraudster who has been pretending to be an “employee” of the Supreme Court (SC).

The suspect, with the alias “Jay Ann,” was caught red-handed in Quezon City, where she was offering “non-appearance” services for annulment cases.

The suspect’s dirty deeds have caught up with her as the NBI-CCD acted on reliable information and launched an entrapment operation on March 7, 2023.

It led to the suspect’s arrest while accepting marked money from an undercover NBI agent.

Balabagno is now facing serious charges of estafa under the Revised Penal Code, as well as violations of Section 21(h) of RA (Republic Act) 11032 (Anti-Red Tape Act, as amended) in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 and Section 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act).

The NBI vowed to give justice to the innocent victims who fell prey to her services.
