BOC-NAIA naharang pagpasok ng exotic pests
NAHARANG ng Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) ang pagpasok ng mga exotic pests mula sa Thailand at idinaan sa Sub-Port of Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) noong Nobyembre 13.
Dumaan umano sa x-ray scanning ang postal item na idineklarang mga candy. Dito nakita ang kakaibang laman ng parcel kaya isinailalim ito sa physical examination. Nadiskubre sa loob ang 50 piraso ng isopods, isang uri ng invertebrates na kabilang sa greater crustaceans.
Ang mga exotic pests ay kinumpiska dahil wala itong import clearance mula sa Bureau of Plant Industry, isang paglabag sa Plant Quarantine Law of 1978 (PD 1433) at Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).

Nangako ang BOC-NAIA, na pinamumunuan ni District Collector Yasmin O. Mapa, na patuloy na paiigtingin ang pagbabantay nito sa mga pumapasok na parcel alinsunod sa direktiba ni Commissioner Rubio.
