Big 3 oil firms hike prices

BIG oil companies announced a second wave of weekly fuel price increases effective today.

Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corporation and Seaoil Philippines at 6 a.m. today will hike prices of diesel and gasoline products by P0.55 and kerosene by P0.70 while Chevron Philippines will also impose the same price adjustments around 12:01 a.m.

The “Big Three” oil companies said the increase in prices of kerosene will only take effect outside the areas battered by Typhoon Odette and areas under state of calamity.

Independent oil firms PTT Philippines, Unioil, Phoenix Petroleum, Total Philippines and Petro Gazz will implement today the same price hikes of their diesel and gasoline products at 6 a.m. while Clean Fuel at 4:01 p.m.

PTT Philippines Communication Officer Jhay Julian said the second fuel price increases reflect movements in the international oil market.
