Bgy kagawad shot dead while collecting ‘debt’
INDANG, Cavite – A barangay councilor or “Kagawad” was shot dead by his neighbor whom he allegedly charged for debt Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in Barangay Buna Lejos 1, here.
The victim was a resident and worked in the barangay office of the said village.
The police are currently looking for the suspect and conducting a follow-up operation as of this writing.
Based on the investigation, at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities received a call regarding the shooting in the barangay.
According to probers, the suspect and the victim argued about the debt owed by the former, which the victim seeks to collect.
Allegedly the suspect got angry, causing him to take his gun and shoot the victim, who quickly fled, carrying the weapon.
