Barko ng China, bumangga sa kinontratang barko ng AFP
Para sa resupplY mission sa BRB Sierra Madre.
NABANGGA ng barko ng China Coast Guard (CCG) ang kinontratang barko ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) para sa resupply mission sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal.
Batay sa ulat ng National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) naganap ang insidente dakong 6:04 ng umaga nitong Linggo.
Ayon sa ulat, ang “ dangerous blocking maneuvers ng CCG vessel 5203 ay nagresulta sa pagbangga sa Unaiza May 2, ang barko ng mga katutubo na kinontrata ng AFP para sa resupply mission sa layong 13.5 nautical miles ng east northeast ng BRP Sierra Madre.
Agad namang kinondena ng Task Force ang insidente at sinabing ang hakbang na ito ng China ay tahasang lumalabag sa sovereign rights ng Pilipinas.
“The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) condemns in the strongest degree the latest dangerous, irresponsible, and illegal actions of the CCG and the Chinese Maritime Militia done this morning, in violation of Philippine sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction and in utter blatant disregard of the United Nations Charter, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) and relevant international maritime conventions, and the 2016 Arbitral Award,” pahayag ng Task Force.
Nauna nang iniulat ng CCG na hinarang nila ang barko ng Pilipinas na anila’y magdadala ng illegal construction materials sa BRP Sierra Madre.
“The Chinese coast guard ship intercepted the trespassing Philippine ship in accordance with the law even though multiple warnings were ineffective,” pahayag ng CCG.
Ang Ayungin Shoal ay matatagpuan sa 194 kilometro sa probinsya ng Palawan na sakop ng Philippine’s exclusive economic zone.
Bagamat nagkaroon ng aberya, iniulat naman ng NTF-WPS na tagumpay namang nakapaghatid ng supply sa BRP Sierra Madre.
