NABUKING ang umano’y pagsisinungaling ng anchor ng Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) na si Lorraine Badoy, nang ang mismong abogado nito na kumakatawan rin sa istasyon ang nagsabing mali ang sinabi nito.

Naganap ang umano’y hindi pagsasabi ni Badoy ng katotohanan sa pagdinig ng House committee on legislative franchises kung saan sumumpa ito na magsasabi ng pawang totoo.

Inusisa nina Reps. David “Jayjay” Suarez ng Quezon, Dan Fernandez ng Sta. Rosa (Laguna), Romeo Acop ng Antipolo City, at Bienvenido Abante Jr. ng Manila ang tungkol sa advertisement ng programa ng SMNI na Laban Kasama ang Bayan, kung saan host sina Badoy at Jeffrey Celiz.

Si Celiz ay ikinulong din dahil sa hindi pagkilala sa source ng kanyang fake news tungkol sa pagbiyahe ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez at sa kanyang unruly behavior.

Sinabi ni Badoy na kasama sa kanilang advertiser ang isang e-fuel, food cart at isang brand ng bottled water.

Pero kinontra ito ni Atty. Mark Tolentino, ang abogado ng SMNI na humarap sa pagdinig.

“Based on my information with the SMNI team, the show (of Badoy) has no advertisers. These are advertisers not of Laban Kasama ng Bayan, but advertisers of a program before that program,” ani Tolentino.

Ipinunto naman ni Suarez ang pagkakaiba ng pahayag nina Badoy at Tolentino na kanya ring abugado.

“Mr. Chair, can we put it on the record, we already cited an individual (Celiz) in contempt earlier for failing to provide the information that the committee requires. To SMNI right now, again, very, very thin ice. Both of you magkatabi kayo (Badoy and Tolentino). Sinabi mo (Badoy) abogado mo ‘to (Tolentino), kayong magkatabi hindi pa magkasundo kung ano ba talaga ‘yung totoo. Sabi mo may tatlong nag-a-advertise, sabi ng katabi mo wala. Paano namin kayo paniniwalaan eh magkatabi na nga kayo,” ani Suarez.

Sinabi naman ni Fernandez na batay sa dokumentong isinumite ng SMNI sa Kamara, walang kinita ang SMNI mula sa programa nina Badoy at Celiz.

“There is no revenue coming from the show (Laban Kasama ng Bayan) of Badoy and Celiz. I think you are lying because what you declared under oath in this committee cannot be found in this breakdown of revenues that you gave us,” giit ni Fernandez.

“In other words, Mr. Chairman, Ma’am Badoy is clearly lying because she was telling us they were gaining profits being co-producers of the program, but we can see nothing in the list of breakdown from revenues. So how can you explain that?” dagdag pa nito.

Sa naturang pagdinig noong Martes, pinangaralan ni Acop si Badoy kaugnay ng pagmamahal sa bayan, matapos nitong kutyain ang isinasagawang imbestigasyon nang siya ay ipakulong dahil sa pagsisinungaling.

“I’m sorry for what happened to you, Madam Badoy, but you do not have the monopoly of love of country,” sabi ni Acop.

“I have laid down my life very often just to protect this country, and if ever I’m going to be called again, I’ll do it not the way you (Badoy) wanted but the way it is authorized by the government,” dagdag pa ni Acop.

“I spent my life fighting for this country, so you do not have to tell me that. Mas marami akong isinugal kaysa sa’yo, so do not give me that crap,” giit nito.

Kinuwestyon din ni Abante, isa sa mga pastor na ni-red tag ni Badoy, ang babaeng anchor.

“I do not know how old you are, Madam Badoy. When I fought the NPA (New People’s Army) in 1986, this government almost lost to the NPA. I was there fighting the NPAs. I do not know where you were at that time,” ani Abante.

“So please do not make a monopoly on the love of the country; all of the members of Congress here love our country. That’s why we are here.

We are not just politicians; we are people that love our nation,” pagpapatuloy ni Abante.

“That’s why we are serving our nation, so please do not make that statement to me; it is still a lie, Mr. Chair,” dagdag pa nito.

Bukod kay Badoy, ipinakulong din ng komite ang co-host nito na si Celiz matapos itong tumanggi na pangalanan ang kanyang source na nagsabi na gumastos si Speaker Romualdez ng P1.8 bilyon sa mga biyahe nito.

Sa unang pagdinig ng komite ay inamin ni Celiz na mali ang kanyang nakuhang impormasyon at humingi ito ng paumanhin kay Speaker Romualdez at sa Kamara.

Nang ikalawang hearing, ginamit ni Celiz ang Sotto law upang hindi pangalanan ang kanyang source. Sa ilalim ng Sotto law ay maaaring hindi isiwalat ng isang mamamahayag ang kanyang source upang mapangalagaan ito.

Pero iginiit ni Suarez na hindi saklaw ng Sotto law ang alegasyon ni Celiz dahil inamin na nito na mali ang kanyang impormasyon.

“Last hearing kasi, inamin na niya (Celiz) na mali ang source niya at humingi na siya ng paumanhin so para gamitin pa ‘yung Sotto law is not anymore applicable to him because sinabi na niyang mali. Sabihin na lamang natin kung sino kasi may kinalaman ito sa relasyon ng Mababang Kapulungan at ng Senado, at pati po ang Senado I won’t be surprised kung kayo po ay magpupumilit na hindi magsasabi ng totoo,

I won’t be surprised if the Senate might conduct its own inquiry into this matter as well. You already involved the Senate in this misinformation and fake news,” sabi ni Suarez na nagsabing nakulong rin si Celiz dahil sa unruly behavior.

Ayon naman kay House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, nagkakahalaga lamang ng P4.3 milyon ang ginastos ng Office of the Speaker sa biyahe mula Enero hanggang Oktobre 2023.
