A STREET in in Sampaloc, Manila was locked down at 12 noon yesterday after 10 COVID cases were recorded there that include a baby and a seven-year-old.

Mayor Isko Moreno directed Manila Social Welfare Department chief Re Fugoso to send the necessary assistance while Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) chief Arnel Angeles sent a team to conduct the necessary disinfection of the area.

It was learned that Barangay 532 chair Zeny Laurel requested the mayor’s office for the necessary food assistance for the affected residents in connection with the lockdown of Alindada Street.

The lockdown, according to Laurel, began at 12 noon yesterday and will be in effect up to 11:59 a.m. of August 19.

There are about 80 families living the area.

Laurel also said that proper coordination had already been done with the Manila Health Department (MHD) under Dr. Poks Pangan and the Manila Emergency Operations Center headed by Dr. Ed Santos for appropriate actions that should be taken on the COVID-positive residents.
