
Jobless man goes on hacking spree
A JOBLESS man suddenlly went on a hacking spree seriously injuring three persons in Bgy. Poblacion, San Pascual, Batangas.
San Pascual Municipal Police Station chief Maj. Jojo Salanguit identified the suspect as Jeffrey Ebite, of Bgy. Carmundo, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
The injured victims were identified as Honorato Marasigan, 77; his 38-year-old son Alex George; and Angelo Escarez, 21, who sustained deep cuts on both arms and bruises on knees.
All the victims are residents of Bgy. Poblacion.
Police said the suspect barged into the house of the victims then hacked them.
The young Marasigan defended himself by grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing the suspect in the back
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the San Pascual Municipal Police Station in a follow-up operation conducted in Sitio Ayala Bgy. Poblacion at 8:30 p.m. on January 6.
Charges for three counts of frustrated murder were filed against Ebite at the Provincial Prosecutors Office.
