4 kids drown, 1 missing in Iligan
FOUR children on Thursday drowned while another remains missing while swimming at a beach in Iligan City.
The Iligan City Police Station identified the fatalities as siblings Junrey, 12; Jocel, 7; and Jomar Sarsaba, 6; and Neijel Mae Marilog, 6; all residents of Bgy. Tambacan, Iligan City.
Nine-year-old Daisy Mae Doble, 9, remains missing.
Prilimiro, the 38-year-old father of the Sarsabas told police that they were swimming at a beach in Purok 1, Bgy, Tambacan when he heard Jocel shouting for help as she was drowning.
The father immediately dove into the water to rescue his daughter.The four other kids followed him.
Big waves pushed them away until they were carried into the deep part of the water.
The bodies of Junrey, Jocel, Jomar and Nejel Mae were recovered in the waters of Purok 7 in the same village.
Authorities are searching for Daisy Mae.
