BUREAU of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Bien Rubio recognized the “hard work and dedication” of its Intelligence Group on Monday, October 16, 2023, awarding it with a Certificate of Commendation for its high resolution and compliance rates in addressing concerns coursed through the Citizens’ Charter Complaint Center.

During the flag-raising ceremony at the BOC grounds in South Harbor, Port Area, Manila, the bureau chief lauded the contribution of its Intelligence Group, headed by Deputy Commissioner Juvymax Uy, for the BOC’s accomplishments from January to June 2023 under the Office of the President’s 8888 Citizens’ Charter Complaint Center.

According to Rubio, the BOC’s Intelligence Group obtained a compliance rate of 91.13% for the 72-hour compliance period, and an overall resolution rate of 96.55% in compliance with Executive Order (EO) No. 6 Series 2016.

The EO aims to further bolster the government’s efforts against corruption, reduce red tape and expedite transactions in the government.

“Let us maintain our responsiveness and ensure that we observe the Anti-Red Tape Act and the Ease of Doing Business Law in furtherance of simplifying administrative procedures and improving efficiency in the delivery of government services,” Rubio said.

The certificate received by the Intelligence Group recognized its “unwavering commitment, hard work and dedication to your duty aligned with performance standards and best practices.”

The Intelligence Group’s performance in helping the bureau obtain its high resolution and compliance rates is also “a manifestation of this bureau’s strengthened efforts towards an efficient, reliable and transparent public service.”

The CIIS-MICP, headed by Field Station chief Alvin Enciso, also received three certificates of commendation recently for its seizure of more than P24 billion worth of counterfeit, contraband, and illegal goods.

The commendation was given “in recognition of their exemplary performance and invaluable support that contributed to the realization of the Intelligence Group’s core mandate in border security and protection.
