LAOAG CITY — Police confiscated Wednesday four improvised cañons, locally known as ‘boga’.

Reports received by Col. Julius Suriben, Ilocos Norte police director, said a minor fired a boga in San Juan, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, disturbing the community.

The loud bang caught the attention of police patrolling the area who responded and immediately confiscated the pyrotechnic.

Since the suspect was a minor, the police just informed the parents of the minor’s illegal act, then confiscated the prohibited items.

In Brgy. Utol, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, police confiscated three improvised cañons from a group of minors, all residents of Brgy. Utol, Bangui.

Suriben reported that his men in Bangui were conducting a mobile patrol in Brgy. Utol, Bangui, Ilocos Norte when they heard a firecracker blast, prompting them to investigate and see the minors holding an improvised boga.

Confiscated from the young suspects were three “improvised “boga”.

The confiscated items were brought to the Bangui police station for proper disposition and destruction.
