A HARROWING tale of human trafficking and exploitation was discovered after the National Bureau of Investigation-Anti Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD) rescued three minors from their sister’s alleged child pornography ring.

The sordid tale began with the arrest of an Argentinian national, Víctor Daniel Ibarra, in Sydney, Australia, for possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) of the rescued females.

The shocking revelation was relayed to the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC), which tipped off the NBI, leading to a raid on the Cebu home of Ibarra’s Filipina fiancé in Ronda town.

To the horror of investigators, her own siblings were allegedly being forced to perform lascivious acts in front of cameras and later distributed on the internet.

With the swift action of the NBI-AHTRAD, together with the NBI-CEVRO (Central Visayas Regional Office) and social workers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Region VII (DSWD-VII), the minors were rescued from their ordeal.

The NBI-AHTRAD has recommended filing charges for violating Section 4 of Republic Act No. 9208 (Anti-Trafficking Persons Act of 2003), as amended, and violation of Section 4 of R.A. 9775 (Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009) in relation to R.A. 10175.
