PHILIPPINE National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) director Colonel Rudolph B. Dimas on Friday announced the capture of three of the country’s most wanted persons following separate manhunt operations conducted by his men.

The arrests were made in the wake of PNP chief General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar’s instruction for the PNP-AKG to not only go after kidnapping-for-ransom gangs and wanted kidnappers in the country, but to also help in accounting for all persons who are already the subject of warrants of arrest, said Dimas.

The PNP-AKG director said one of the suspects identified as Allan Otchia, 44, a driver wanted for 14 counts of rape with no bail recommended by a Misamis Occidental regional trial court, was arrested in Providence Village, Bgy. Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan on Tuesday.

Dimas said his men, with the assistance of the Bonifacio Municipal Police Station, apprehended the suspect following days of surveillance. The suspect has been tagged as the 6th most wanted criminal in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental prior to his arrest made on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Silvia Singidas Machanacion.

The 2nd identified as Kenneth Legaste, 46, resident of Bgy. Tubungan in Lambunao, Iloilo, was arrested by AKG officers in Bgy. Balabag in Sta. Barbara municipality on Thursday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for rape with no bail recommended by Judge Gemalyn Tarol.

The suspect is also wanted for violation of the anti-child abuse law with an P80,000 recommended bail.

The 3rd identified as Eric Calopez, 20, was arrested in his residence in Purok Tanguigue, Bgy. 1 in Bacolod City on Wednesday evening by a team of AKG and Bacolod City police operatives.

The suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by Judge Ana Celeste Bernad.

Dimas said the arrested wanted suspects will be presented to the court for issuance of official jail commitment orders.
