
3 Cavite local tourism offices clinch awards at ATOP 2023
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — The City of General Trias, Carmona, and the town of Alfonso brought home honor to the province of Cavite in the prestigious 24th Pearl Awards of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) held at the Boracay Newcoast Convention Center in Malay, Aklan on Friday.
The recognitions received were immediately presented to their local leaders.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco led the awarding of local government units and tourism officers who are recipients of the awards.
Alfonso town bagged the Best Brochure for Tourism Promotions (Grand Winner for the Wedding Destination of the Philippines Brochure) and the 1st runner up for Tablea Baterol (Best Tourism Souvenir)
Carmona was chosen national finalist with its Sorteo Festival. It also won the Best Cultural Festival Award in the municipality level, 2nd runner up, Reciclar de Carmona and Best Tourism Gifts or Souvenirs Award (non-food) in the municipality level.
Meanwhile, General Trias City Tourism Office under Dennise Columna clinched the 1st Runner-Up
Best Tourism Gift/Souvenirs (Food) (The Best Moment of Life is with Gentri’s Best) (City Level) ; 1st Runner-Up Best Hosting Award of LGU (Local Event) (General Trias: Where Heritage Lives) (City Level); 2nd Runner-Up Best Religious Festival Award – Festival of Tata Kiko (City Level); Finalist – Best practices in Community Based Tourism (City Level)
The Tourism chief was joined by Tourism Promotions Board chief operating officer Marga Nograles, ATOP national president Junel Ann Divinagracia, and ATOP vice president for Mindanao Noel Daquioag.
Other DOT officials who also graced the event in Boracay were Undersecretaries Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Ferdinand Jumapao, Verna Buensuceso, and directors from the Central and Regional Offices.
The provincial government of Cavite salutes the milestones of respective localities towards success in tourism development in their respective LGUs.
Louis Miguel R. Ilustrisimo of the Alfonso Tourism Office and Paolo Diaz of the Carmona Tourism Office also attended the event.
