TWENTY-SEVEN foreigners working in a POGO hub-turned online scam facility in Pasay City have been transferred to the Pasay City Jail, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Executive Director Gilbert DC Cruz said on Saturday.

The official said that Judge Gina Palamos of the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 ordered the transfer of the 27 workers of the raided Rivendell Global Gaming Corp. to the Pasay City Jail.

The 27 are facing charges for violation of the Securities Regulation Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and are set to appear before the same Pasay City court.

Cruz said that another five Chinese and a Malaysian apprehended during the raid were committed to the Bureau of Immigration detention cell for violating the conditions of their stay as aliens in the Philippines.

Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on Thursday ordered the deportation proceedings against all 231 workers found working in the POGO firm later found to be a hub of online scams in a raid last August 1.

Bersamin also instructed the Anti-Money Laundering Council, led by Executive Director Matthew David, to freeze the assets of the raided POGO firm, including the SKK Building as well as all vehicles found in the vicinity of the raided establishment located at no. 2741 Zamora corner Gaitos Streets in Pasay City.

Sec. Bersamin likewise ordered a thorough manhunt against Lin Guowei. Guowei is believed to be behind the illegal operations of the raided POGO hub.

Officers from the PAOCC and the National Bureau of Investigation raided the facility for involvement in online scams.
