CARRANGLAN, Nueva Ecija – An 18-year-old teenager and a 15-year-old minor were apprehended by the authorities and recovered two alleged stolen motorcycles and a sidecar during separate operations conducted by joint teams from the local police, the Nueva Ecija Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in this town and San Jose City on Monday.

Town police head Captain Darwin B. Mislang said the arrest of the duo came after authorities conducted a series of follow-up operations based on CCTV (closed-circuit television) camera footage recovered and complaints from two victims identified as McKenneth Mendoza, 25, and Lani Agmaliw, 39, both of Bgy. Minuli, this town.

Mislang said the 18-year-old suspect is from Zone 3, Bgy. Calaocan, while the second suspect’s identity was withheld for still being a minor.

Charges of carnapping were filed against the arrested suspects.

According to Mendoza, his black Rusi tricycle was stolen while parked unattended along a road shoulder in Bgy. Minuli. Agmaliw, the other victim, told police that her Rusi 175 motorcycle was stolen while parked in front of their house, also in Bgy. Minuli.

Based on the recovered CCTV footage, three suspects were seen leaving the area and fleeing toward San Jose City, said Mislang.

Acting on this lead, he said they were able to trace the whereabouts of the two suspects, leading to their arrest and the recovery of two stolen motorcycles, including a detached sidecar.
