2 DRUG SUSPECTS HELD IN CABANATUAN STINGS; P177K SHABU SEIZED

CABANATUAN CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were nabbed in separate buy-bust operations here on Tuesday resulting in the seizure of about 26.1 grams of shabu with a street value of P177,480, it was learned.

Newly-installed city police head Lt. Col. Warly C. Bitog, who assumed his post here on Friday, March 10, said the twin operations were conducted in Purok 6, Bgy. Hermogenes Concepcion Sr. and in Purok 7, Bgy. San Josef Sur at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively.

During the first operation, he said members of the city anti-illegal drug enforcement unit arrested a 41-year-old suspect from Purok 1, Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Gapan City who sold a P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop.

Also seized from him were four plastic sachets with shabu weighing 22.01 grams with a street value of P150,280.

In the second buy-bust, Bitog said his men nabbed a 46-year-old suspect, of Purok 7, Bgy. Pula, this city.

He said an undercover cop was able to buy a P500-worth of shabu from the suspect that led to his arrest.

Also confiscated from him were two plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated weight of four grams with a street value of P27,200.

Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Richard V. Caballero said the two suspects were already slapped with charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 before the city prosecutor’s office here.
