13 Ecija chiefs of police reshuffled

CABANATUAN CITY — At least 13 chiefs of police in Nueva Ecija were given new assignments in a major reshuffle implemented following the takeover of newly-elected city and municipal officials on June 30.

Acting provincial police chief Col. Jess B. Mendez said the reshuffle was a routinary procedure to give other police officers an opportunity to shine and show their worth.

“The only permanent in this world is change, hindi natin nabili ang ating mga posisyon. Dapat open kayo sa change. Ang pagbabago na ito ay hindi na bago; dapat maging well-versed tayo sa lahat ng bagay. Bigyan natin ng chance ‘yung iba to also show their worth,” Mendez told the chiefs of police during the formal turn-over rites held at the Nueva Ecija police provincial headquarters here on July 1.

Reshuffled were Science City of Muňoz police head Lt. Col. Marlon Cudal, who was reassigned as chief of the provincial operations management unit after being replaced by erstwhile deputy provincial director for administration Lt. Col. Norman Cacho; and Cuyapo police head Lt. Col. Erwin Ferry, replaced by Major Jeffrey Alivia, the former POMU head.

Also affected was San Antonio police head Major Abraham Atencio, who re-assumed his former police post in Santo Domingo, replacing Major Rommel Zagala. Atencio’s replacement was Major Rommel Nabong, former chief of the provincial tactical operations center.

Other COPs revamped were Llanera police head Major Sandy Bautista, replaced by Captain Ronan James Eblahan, erstwhile police head of General Tinio; Eblahan’s post now assumed by Major Lawrence Lira, former chief-General Services; Bongabon chief Major Nelson Sarmiento, transferred to General Natividad and replaced by Major Christopher Baluyot, former deputy provincial investigation and detective management unit; General Natividad chief Major Shariel Paulino, replaced San Isidro head Major Karl Jayson Dela Cruz, who was transferred to Aliaga police station, replacing Major Neilmar Retana;

Laur police Major Sonny Serbo, replaced by Major Danilo Liberato, former deputy police chief Gapan city; Gabaldon PS Major Aniceto Caraang Jr., replaced by Major Milo Abriam, deputy San Jose City police; and Talugtug police Major Rommel Balacuay, replaced by Captain Willard Dulnuan, also a former deputy San Jose city police head.
