THE number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the city of Navotas continued to decline as the City Health Office again reported no additional cases on Sunday.

However, Mayor Toby Tiangco said the death of a former patient was recorded on the same day while the city logged 96% recoveries as of June 20, 2021, including seven patients who were allowed to go home with their families.

The city chief executive said the number of new infections continue to fall down in Navotas and currently, they now have a total of 10,538 recovered patients and 76 active cases.

The mayor said the city aimed to attain herd immunity against Covid-19 and this will only be achieved if majority of the city’s population will be vaccinated.

On Monday, the city government continues to vaccinate priority groups under categories A-1 to A5, in eight vaccination sites in different barangays.
