A JOBLESS man and his cohort were tagged in the gruesome death of a 50-year-old woman who was found buried in a concrete floor in the basement of her house, frustrated killing of the latter’s daughter and the abduction of her three-year-old grandson.

The suspect identified as Emmanuel De Guia, 33, of Bgy. Parang, Marikina City was arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District. His alleged cohort identified only as a certain Nelbert Saz remains at large.

A report from the QCPD-CIDU showed the two were accused of killing Ma. Theresa Caballero, 50.

Caballero’s cadaver was discovered based on the statement of her daughter Theffanie Caballero, 22.

Theffanie reportedly survived after being stabbed by the same suspects who entered their house in Bgy. Bagong Silangan at about 2 am on June 9, 2021.

Investigation showed on that said date the suspects repeatedly stabbed Theresa and Theffannie.

The suspects then buried Theresa’s body in cement at the basement of the house.

It was not stated however in the report how Theffanie was able to go to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center where she divulged to the police what transpired.

On June 11, 2021 at about 9:28 am, Theffanie told the police that her mother was buried under the stairs at the basement of their house.

Operatives of QCPD-CIDU conducted an ocular investigation at Caballero’s house and exhumed Ma. Theresa’s body.

They also obtained information on the whereabouts of the suspect De Guia that led to his arrest in Bgy. Parang, Marikina City.

Policemen rescued the three-year-old son of Theffanie who was also abducted by the suspect.

A Toyota Fortuner of Ma. Theresa which was also taken by the suspects on their way to escape was also recovered.

During interrogation at the QCPD-CIDU, De Guia claimed Ma. Theresa was his paramour and that the suspects’ initial motive was just robbery.
