TEN top drug suspects in Western Visayas were arrested in anti-narcotics operations and resulted in the seizure of nearly P10 million worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Sydney N. Villaflor announced Sunday.

Seven of the suspects were arrested in five separate anti-narcotics operations, the police official added.

The official said the three, all from Iloilo City, were identified only through their aliases ‘Jao,’ ‘Yucan’ and ‘Tin.’

‘Jao’ was arrested in Barangay Legaspi, Iloilo City past 9 p.m. Saturday.

His arrest yielded 70 grams of shabu valued at P476,000.

The other two suspects were arrested in Bgy. Magsaysay in La Paz, Iloilo City about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

Officers recovered from the two an estimated 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million.

Two other targets, identified as alias ‘Tringay’ and ‘Toting,’ were arrested in Bgy. Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City 1:40 a.m. Sunday. Their arrest yielded 370 grams of shabu worth P2.516 million.

“The series of arrests in Iloilo City was a result of a high impact, intelligence-driven police operation by our joint operatives,” said Villaflor.

Three other suspects were arrested in Barangay Desamarados in Jaro, loilo City last Monday which resulted in the recovery of 150 grams of shabu valued at P1.02 million.

The official said that another suspect, identified as John Paul Jovero alias ‘Kit,’ 37, was arrested after he sold 60 grams of shabu valued at P408,000 to an undercover officer.

The suspect yielded 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing the drugs and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P500 bill.

The 8th suspect, identified as Genesis Selorio alias ‘Joever,’ 26, of Zone 6, Bgy. Boulevard in Molo, Iloilo City, yielded an estimated 49 grams of shabu worth P333,200.

The 9th identified as Franz Edward Arias, a 27-year old resident of Bgy. Sinikway in Lapuz, Iloilo City yielded an estimated P612,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in the city last Tuesday evening.

The 10th suspect, identified as Jepster Bonillo, 24, was arrested in Bgy. PD Monfort in North Dumangas area Tuesday afternoon.

Confiscated from the suspect were 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.
