Incumbent Vice-Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado of Bulacan is highly confident that presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos would win handily in the province in the scheduled May 9, 2022 national elections.

“Sa paglilibot ko po, lalo na sa malayong lugar, Bongbong Marcos po,” Vice-Governor Alvarado said in an ambush interview where he was asked about the election prospects of the UniTeam presidential bet in Bulacan.

Recently, Marcos was with his running-mate Inday Sara Duterte and the UniTeam Senate slate in a rally in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

“Unang-una inaapi nila. Ayaw na ayaw po ng mga tao ang nang-aapi. We’re only starting lalo na sa lokal, sa March 25 pa po ‘yan. If you will base it during the last election 2016 national elections, nanalo po si Marcos dito sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan,” Alvarado stressed.

During the 2016 vice-presidential race, Marcos garnered 42.50% or about 556,480 votes in the province and led against Leni Robredo by up to 190,401 votes.

The province of Bulacan is the fifth vote-rich province in the upcoming 2022 elections, with 2,007,523 registered voters.
